Goodbye

Very early in the morning, at exactly 5:30, I received a text message from Associate Dean Ma. Teresa B. Arce sharing the sad news about the passing away of her mother-in-law. I replied and conveyed to the family my sincere condolences.

In many occasions in our lives, we celebrate the birth of a child or coming home of our loved ones. It brings us joy and happiness. But when it comes to losing someone or saying goodbye, grief and sorrow envelope our hearts.

When a member of the family passes away, it is said that he is not gone, rather, rather he just started an eternal life. The family being left behind mourns over the loss and the pain remains in one's heart. It does not go away, but the person become used to it. Life is a never ending cycle and for every beginning there is always an end, but endings always mean new beginnings.

In UE (University of the East), opening of classes at the start of the semester brings excitement to faculty members, students and administrators. But when the semester ends, especially on graduation day, everyone says goodbye.
Graduation Day signals an end, but it marks a new beginning in the lives of students.
