Easter Sunday

I had a short on-line chat with Karen Gimena just a while ago. Karen is one among the candidates for graduation in Batch 2010. This petite, simple girl was my sudent in Financial Accounting. Very quiet, yet attentive, she seldom recites, but she delivers during written exams. I know after graduation, I will not see Karen anymore in the campus as often as I do now, because she will start a new phase in her life. She will be one among the hundred of thousands working girls rushing to catch up regularly with the first trip of the train in the morning going to Makati or elsewhere to her workplace.

The thought of  my students leaving UE after five years (for BSA course) brings sadness to my heart. I will miss everyone definitely. But this is the reality, our students are like our own children. After years of nurturing them, they leave us and start a new chapter in their lives. The teachers are left behind to take good care of another group and the cycle goes on... In a way, teachers are like the shepherds who tend the flock.

Today I received a text message from my good friend Marcy. It says, "May you find Jesus in all the simple yet beautiful things we experience: a refreshing bath, a hearty meal, and a winsome smile of a child :-) Happy Easter!" Very simple yet meaningful message.  Marcy always reminds me that hapiness is actually found in simple things.
Happy Easter to everyone! May Jesus Christ lives in our hearts forever, so we find true peace and happiness!

Mamita!!!

I was really touched by your entries...

I just want you to know that like a second mom, graduation doesn't cut the ties of a teacher and a student... every moment, whether good or bad, will forever be cherished and linger in the heart and mind. ^_^

Happy Easter and GOD BLESS!
